Thousands of children struggle with mental health issues every day, but many of them don’t receive the help they need. This can lead to a number of negative consequences, such as social isolation, academic problems, and even suicide.

If you notice any of these signs in your child, please don’t hesitate to reach out for help. Early intervention is key when it comes to mental health, and the sooner you seek help, the better.

Fortunately, there are professionals, such as your local care management organization (CMO), who offer mental health services to New Jersey youth.

CMOs are responsible for assisting families in finding and developing a network of support that includes natural supports, informal community supports, and formal service supports. This involves identifying and collaborating with existing resources in order to meet the culture and values of those being served.

New Jersey CMOs use the Child Family Team Process to implement the Wraparound Model. The Wraparound Approach is a team-based planning approach that integrates people from diverse areas of a family’s existence to assist families in achieving their goals and objectives.

Wraparound services can include services such as individual and family therapy, care management, home visits, and more. The Wraparound Approach is designed to meet the unique needs of each child and family.

How can mental health services for children help?

Mental health services can provide support, guidance, and treatment for children who are dealing with mental health issues.  They can assist your child in learning to cope with their challenges, improve academic performance, and increased socialization.  In some cases, mental health services can also prevent mental health problems from getting worse.
